Violet Evergarden is a memory doll. She was a nameless child who was found by Dietfried Bougainvillea on an island which they were forced to land on after a naval engagement. There he saw Violet kill several soldiers who tried to molest her, impressed by her skills he bought her with him to Gilbert. His sole intentions were to use her for her skills but Gilbert made her into human , gave her a name Violet [which he wanted her to bloom like], he taught her how to speak and how to write and read. She was loyal to Gilbert and had fought many abttles for him. Once trying to save Gilbert in a war she lost both her arms.
Though there is a mystery about how she got on the island. Her early life is eerie and anything about her is unknown. It was often bought to attention that she might possess supernatural powers while coming to killing people flawlessly.
Overall the manga is a thriller and has many questions unanswered which makes it even mysterious.
