Mobile Subscriber Security and Management with Telecom Analysis

The central government of India has introduced the Sanchar Saathi portal with the goal of empowering and assisting mobile subscribers across the nation. This initiative, led by the Department of Telecommunications (DOT), is centered around the well-being and security of mobile users.

Through the Sanchar Saathi platform, citizens gain the ability to access information regarding mobile connections registered in their name. They can also easily disconnect unnecessary connections, track lost mobile devices, and verify the authenticity of both new and used mobile phones when making a purchase. Sanchar Saathi encompasses multiple modules, including CEIR and tafcop.dgtelecom.gov in portal , to offer a comprehensive suite of services.

What is Telecom Analytics?

The Telecom Analytics for Fraud Management and Consumer Protection portal allows mobile subscribers to verify the number of mobile connections registered in their name. Additionally, as indicated on the Sanchar Saathi portal, it provides a means to report any mobile connections that are unnecessary or were not requested by the subscriber.

Features

It provides a range of tools for effectively managing and securing mobile connections, which include the following capabilities:

  • Notification for Excessive Connections: Mobile subscribers with an excess of ‘g’ connections will receive SMS notifications, allowing them to take appropriate actions by logging into the portal.
  • Suspicious Activity Reporting: Individuals can report any suspicious activities related to their mobile connections through this portal. This can be done by submitting complaints online and monitoring the status of these reports using the provided Ticket ID Ref No.
  • Request Status Check: Upon logging into the portal, users can conveniently verify the status of their requests using the ‘request status’ feature, provided they provide the Ticket ID Ref No.
  • Mobile Number Deactivation and Blocking: Mobile users have the flexibility to deactivate or block previously issued mobile numbers that are no longer in use.
  • Active and Inactive Mobile Number Verification: Subscribers can access the portal to confirm the count of active and inactive mobile numbers associated with their accounts.
